Describe the work Be specific. Vague jobs get vague quotes.

Add location Suburb + state. Tradies need to know how far to travel.

Set timeline Urgent, this week, this month, or "flexible".

Add photos (optional but helps) Pictures of the problem or area help tradies quote accurately.

Writing a Good Job Description

Need a plumber. Need a plumber to replace a leaking laundry tap. Mixer tap, 15+ years old. Have replacement tap (Caroma) ready to install. Apartment, ground floor, easy access. Tuesday or Wednesday this week ideal.

Receiving Quotes

You'll get email notifications when tradies respond. Two types of quotes:

Quick Quote

A short message with a rough price estimate. Good for simple jobs.

📋 Professional Quote

A full branded quote with itemised costs, T&Cs, warranty, and an "Accept" button. You can accept or decline online.

📋 Tip Always get at least 2-3 quotes for any job over $500. Even Quick Quotes — that way you can compare. The cheapest isn't always best, but the most expensive isn't always best either.

Choosing a Tradie

  • Check their profile — Photos of past work, reviews, ABN, license number
  • Compare quotes — Not just price. What's included? What's the warranty? When can they start?
  • Ask questions — A good tradie will answer clarifying questions happily
  • Trust your gut — If something feels off, move on

After You Accept

Once you accept a quote (Quick or Pro), the tradie is notified. You then arrange logistics directly — payment terms, start date, access, materials etc. Members Warehouse is hands-off from this point.
